How Students Get Around Social Networking Bans

It’s nothing new for eduators to hear that students have a way of getting on websites banned by their school district. But now, the Pew Research Center has released data indicating that 93% of teens use the internet, and 73% of those teens use social networking sites. With websites that offer a plethora of proxy servers that will bypass school district firewalls, students are increasingly equipped to use social networks while at school.

It is important for schools to review such bans and evaluate their efficacy and relevance. With so many young people using the Internet and social networking sites, educators may find themselves scrambling to keep apace.
